Glasgow Rangers fans have been left in the dark today after contract talks to sell their star striker to Birmingham City stalled late last night.
18-goal Kris Boyd was given permission to speak to the championship promotion contenders after a bid thought to be in the region of £3.5m was accepted by Sir David Murray’s side.
Boyd is seen as crucial to Rangers’ title hopes as they fight to end a three year SPL drought and his goals have already been instrumental this season.
Talks are due to continue throughout the day as Birmingham try to land their man and hope they can capture Boyd to aid their promotion chances.
Gers fans will be praying that they can keep hold of the fans favourite as his loss is seen as a huge blow by many of the Rangers faithful.
Steven Cunningham said: “I have been going to (Rangers) games now for the last three seasons and it is clear to see that Boyd is hugely influential to us. At the end of the day goals win games and he has a knack of finding the back of the net.
“I would certainly be sad to him go and I think that view is shared by the vast majority of Rangers fans.”
